the election and now they are ready to change. really change. >> things like obama care are getting in the way of small business job creation. >> we don't have a spending problem in washington. >> we must not repeal obama care. >> there's no gay mafia that has inflicted the fear of death, political death in the republican party. >> with your help, we will make barack obama a two-term president. >> amazing, right? but april fool's. reality is, they haven't changed a thing. the right wing is in full freakout over what a pastor said when the president and his family attended. it took place in st. john's church across the street from the white house. reverend luis leon said, it drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are calling us back, for blacks to be back in the back of the bus, for women to be back in the kitchen, for immigrants to be back on the other side of the border. yes, this pastor pointing out what is really happening, from voter i.d. to war on women's rights to marriage equality and today republicans showed they still can't handle the truth. >> that's an interesting

and "the washington post" says it might be a strong political move. let me quote "the washington post." by taking a volunteer cut in his own pay, no matter the size or amount, president obama is forcing the sequester back into the news and back to people's minds at least for a day or two. >> i think it could backfire, though, because what the president wants the sequester to be appealed. he thinks the cuts are too draconian and by taking his own pay cut it sort of implies, hey, look, we're all going to take these cuts. it sort of implants the sequester as not something that is going to be repealed. >> angela, you're nodding your head. you don't agree with that? >> i don't agree with that. it wasn't just the president but it was attorney general holder and secretary hagel and secretary kerry. i think what they are saying is these are tough but we don't want the hardworking americans that are in these regular government jobs to be suffering the most from the sequester. >> what it has not been is any republicans. i want to see when they are going to take a cut because they caused the cut

you challenge the president, president obama, is good politics. good politics? and that's why it's so hard to get things done in washington. republicans have been blocking the president on everything. on gun control. on immigration. on gay marriage. on a fair budget. they've even opposed him on policies they used to support. in the process, the gop has made the choice to hurt real americans. all in the name of so-called good politics. if he's for it, they're against it. and the president knows it. >> they've said no to just about every idea i've proposed, every policy i've proposed. even ideas they've traditionally agreed with. no, i'm not exaggerating. i mean, we had situations where they would sponsor bills, i'd say okay, and then they'd say, oh, well if you're okay with it we must be against it. happened a bunch of times. it's true. >> yes, it's true. and thanks to senator graham, we know why and from the first day he took office we've been seeing the blocking, the ugly attacks, the smears. and the manufactured crisis. >> some have said it was indelicate of me to suggest that our t

check and yet people in washington are working hard to kill this every single day. it just doesn't make sense. and that's why, you know, the way barack obama won two elections was person to person talking about the issues and he won elections that people say he couldn't win and that's exactly the kind of commitment and the kind of organizing we have to do around these legislative issues. they are going to spend all of the money in the world and we're going to encounter it with fax and people and i like our chances. >> well, i think you laid out a real strategy and it's interesting when you were talking about he won elections people didn't think he could win, i was looking at a quote from you where you talked about doing health care five different times during the health care we went in and told the president it was dead and five different times he put it together and passed a bill that has made millions of americans live better and that's why he's the leader who i believe in. and i think that's an interesting statement, jim. it gives a lot of hope on the policies we're dealing with now
